Rogue Trader Road Warrior.

Just got my first post-apocalyptic style vehicle TTR for Boone's Landing. This is a new skill I am developing and I am testing a few settings out on the camera because of the fading light but I thought you might like a quick look at my progress. My birthday is this month and I am getting an upgraded camera! :)

The Cartwright family truck, 'Long Tall Sally'.

Eat my dust!

Can't wait until Thursday so I can play some more RT!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Looking great Paul! Let us know what stats you choose for it for the game. It's very Mad Max, and speaking of links between Mad Max and 40k, here's some trivia that you may or may not already know. On page 226 of the RT rulebook in the section on Logans World there is a picture of a bus with a destination sign that reads "Coober Pedy". Cooper Pedy is a town in South Australia where some of Mad Max was filmed! Its an Aboriginal name that means "Place of the White Men". Who says Warhammer 40,000 isn't educational?

    1. That's a nice bit of triv, thanks, and thank you for the kind compliment. I am keen on exploring the strongest 80s influences on RT for GM inspiration and I am at the point where I pick up on all the Judge Dredd and Laserburn stuff in the book but I would not have spotted that one in a hurry!

I am going to do some more vehicles in this style now that I have some experience doing it, the look I got can be improved with better spare parts to add on but overall it's a cool theme.

    1. Thanks Fran!

I would totally drive a car like this. I have seen one or two pics on Google images of a real life interceptor at a car show and I now want one pretty badly. I just have to think of a way to bring it up in conversation with the WIFE...

    1. This is my test piece, I always do one, the first one I have ever done. I was totally making it up as I went along! I will do a more nuts and bolts post about the car I'm about to do. There are one or two possible pitfalls to avoid that I want to explain too.

      And thanks for the compliment!

    1. Thanks Jason! Lots more to come, I promise. I'm a big fan of the whole trilogy, I love low budget success stories like the original (also Terminator and El Mariachi) but the second film is just awesome. The third takes a sharp turn down fantasy lane and has a different feel, but I don't have a problem with that at all! I hope the promised fourth installment with Tom Hardy is a worthy sequel, if it ever arrives!

  6. Oooooh!! Terrific! Love it! I've recently played Dark Future and that's totally the spirits of it! RT has a lot of this too and you can get thousands of ideas for sure. I'll be keeping an eye! :)

    1. Thanks Suber, glad you like it. In my mind a lot of the RT and DF stuff is interchangeable, while I'm concentrating on trying to resurrect RT in the 28mm scale I intend to plunder lot's of ideas from DF. Let me know if you have any cool ideas you think will work for Boone's Landing as I may be able to incorporate some. Currently on the 'things to do' list is a collection of road sections made with sandpaper and a truck stop.

  7. Long Tall Sally looks the biz Paul!

As well as Mad Max you should check out this classic for vehicle ideas - Warrior of the Lost World - check out 1.00.30 for new faction ideas and 1.01.38 for Megaweapon!

    ;)

    1. Hello mate. Thanks very much, and thanks for the link too! I stumbled across the movie on IMBd because it was linked to Mad Max but I had never heard of it before. I will definitely watch it in full now, especially as I love Mystery Science Theatre 3000!
